Let’s talk timelines!

Need a hand with planning your timeline? You’re on the right page because we’ve got you covered!

To help keep things smooth and stress-free, we’ve put together some general time frames that might make your day easier to plan. But hey, if you have any questions, reach out to us!

Getting Ready (approx. 2 hrs)

This part of the day can be a bit of a rollercoaster, but we are all about making it as chill and fun as possible. We usually spend about an hour capturing each person’s “getting ready” moments—because who wants to feel rushed during one of the most special parts of the day? Not you, that’s for sure!

Ceremony (approx. 30 min)

Have a quick chat with your celebrant (if you haven’t already) to see how long they think the ceremony will be. It can vary from a quick 10 minutes to a full hour, so it’s better to get the scoop from them directly.

Congratulations (approx. 15 min)

You’ve done it! You’re officially married! Now it’s time to get showered with hugs, high-fives, and all the love from your nearest and dearest. Take it all in—it’s a magical moment. We usually let this go for about 15 minutes so you can soak up every bit of that post-ceremony bliss.

Family Photos (approx. 30 min)

After the ceremony, it’s family photo time! To keep things moving, we suggest allowing approximately 3 minutes per photo/group and focusing on immediate family. Trust us, time flies when everyone’s together, and before you know it, nana has walked off and no-one can find her, quickly 10 photos/groups are taking up to half an hour.

Wedding Party Photos (approx. 30 min)

If you’ve got a wedding party, give them the heads-up that it’s time to bring the energy! This is one of the most fun parts of the day, and we’re here to make sure it’s a blast. Let your crew know it’ll only take 30 minutes (max), and you want everyone to bring their A-game for some epic photos you’ll all love.

Portraits (approx. 30 min)

Now it’s just the two of you—finally! We’ll send the wedding party off so you can have some alone time to bask in the love and romance. And don’t worry about feeling awkward in front of the camera. Seriously, 95% of my couples say the same thing, but that’s where we come in. We’ll guide you through some natural, candid moments and make sure we’re capturing that just-married glow in the best light possible.

We also strongly encourage checking what time Golden Hour will be on your wedding day. This is the moment us photographers fall in love with—the lighting is soft, and we’re getting that golden glow, hopefully with an epic sunset. This is when you’ll want to have your portraits taken!

Reception (as long as you want!)

Now, let’s get this party started! Whether it’s speeches, cake cutting, or your first dance, you can structure it however you like. We’ve seen it all, and there’s no wrong way to do it—just do what feels right for you!

We hope this helps make your planning a little easier. Remember, there’s no wrong way to do this—just do what makes YOU both happy and enjoy every second of it.
